Running Club News 11/6/18

Monday 11th June 2018

Firstly a massive thank you to Charles for looking after the running club for the last two weeks. He has had to endure some tough conditions, including resisiting an alcoholic drink all day on the bank holiday Monday so he can be a responsible runner for the club that eveing. Many thanks Charles.

It was the last attempt at the current routes this evening, and perfect conditions for the “slightly” cross country route. There were no PBs to write about, but it is a tough course. It was great to see a few people back this evening though. Karen was back running after a glute strain and with less than a week to the Eastleigh 10k she was testing it out. Great news then that it passed with no problems and so good luck to Karen and her Son on Sundays run. Greg was also back this evening and looking strong as ever. The conditions (Heat) don’t really favour him, but he put in a strong run to finish in 10m 17s per mile, well done Greg. Jo is going from strength to strength now, having run 9miles on her own on saturday she was back today for another 5.3! Finishing in under 10mins per mile as well, awesome Jo!!

Sharon and Cat finished the 4.7miles with Charles chasing them down Newtown Road. That may have helped push Cat to one of her fastest ever runs with the club, just 20 secs per mile off  her PB. Well done to Sharon too who kept her going. Charles finished strong while chasing down Cat and Sharon he also had Sarah closing in from behind! Only 9 seconds separated them at the end as Sarah really pushed to catch him at the end.

well done to all the runners, new routes for next week!
